The mission statement is to enhance and promote the professional management of governments for the public benefit by identifying and developing financial policies and best practices and promoting their use through education, training, facilitation of member networking, and leadership.
The Board establishes and improves standards of state and local governmental accounting and financial reporting, resulting in useful information for users of financial reports, and educates the public, including issuers, and auditors, and users of those financial reports.
Two fund types are used to account for agencys governmental-type activities: the General Fund, and the Special Revenue Fund. See applicable descriptions under those terms.
