August 28: This Date in Los Angeles Transportation History

1901:  Division 6 on Sunset Avenue in Venice opens as Pacific Electric Railway’s Pacific Park Car House.

The Division operates rail service for 48 years until it switches to bus operations in 1950.

The 3.13 acre Division later celebrates its 100th year of transit service in 2001 with 68 buses serving five lines.
