February 16: This Date in Los Angeles Transportation History

1980:  A routine run for Southern California Rapid Transit District‘s Line 175 turns into a heroic saga during one the worst rain storms in Los Angeles history.

The bus was cut off by mudslides along Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu, prompting the SCRTD Dispatch and other staff to determine how to feed and shelter the six passengers and bus operator while prohibited from returning.
