1974:  Southern California Rapid Transit District’s Board of Directors endorses Proposition 5 and Proposition A.

Proposition 5 is a “Highways And Mass Transit Guideways” state ballot measure, which passes on June 4.

Proposition A is a Los Angeles County measure

The measures would allow a portion of the motor vehicle fuel tax to be used for public transit funding for the first time.
