1939:  Following three days of unprecedented festivities, Los Angeles Union Passenger Terminal — now known as Los Angeles Union Station — is formally dedicated and opened.

1960:  Los Angeles Metropolitan Transit Authority establishes Freeway Flyer Service on Line 93 which serves the Central and West Central San Fernando Valley via the Hollywood Freeway.
