1956: The film “Bus Stop” starring Marilyn Monroe premieres at Grauman’s Chinese Theater on Hollywood Boulevard.

Metropolitan Coach Lines’ and 20th Century Fox’s cooperative agreement results in specially painted buses featuring Marilyn Monroe on the sides as well as the top of the vehicles. The buses are placed into regular service on various lines.

2006: Fifteen members of the Danish Parliament’s Transport Committee tour the Metro system.

Denmark’s Ambassador to the United States, Friis Arne Petersen, joins the delegation to understand how Los Angeles is coping with its “enormous growth in numbers of citizens and vehicle trafic in combination with public transportation.”

Copenhagen has recently completed the first phase of its Metro which features an automated driverless system utilizing 17 stations and 10.5 miles of track.
