1928: The longest railroad tunnel in America is officially opened.

Approximately 2,500 government officials and other representatives participate in the dedication ceremonies of Moffat Tunnel under the Continental Divide in Colorado.

The 6.09-mile long tunnel cuts the distance between Denver and the Pacific Coast by 181 miles.

2009: Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority CEO Roger Snoble is honored by State, County, and local leaders for his efforts in the successful passage of Measure R, the half-cent sales tax initiative approved by County voters in November, 2008.
