QUALIFICATION TEST

A one-time test performed by manufacturer to evaluate the ability of an item to operate correctly as specified.

QUALIFIED PRODUCTS LIST

An established list of standardized products which assures efficiency, economy, compatibility and/or maintenance reliability of MTA purchased products.

QUALIFIED TECHNICIAN

A technician who has been determined to be qualified (i.e., meeting some minimun standard) to perform specific duties.

QUALITATIVE

Those inductive or deductive analytical approaches which are oriented toward relative, non-measurable and subjective values. (NTSC)

QUALITY ASSURANCE CONTROL INSPECTOR

Consultant or client engineering inspector authorized to accept or reject materials, systems, structures, components equipment, operations, tests, etc., on the basis of inspection plans.

QUALITY ASSURANCE PROGRAM

All those planned and systematic actions necessary to provide adequate confidence that structures, systems, components, parts or material are erected, manufactured or installed in accordance with applicable drawings, specifications and codes.

QUALITY ASSURANCE SPECIFICATIONS

Specifications that require contractor QC and agency acceptance activities throughout production and placement of a product. Final acceptance of the product is usually based on a statistical sampling of the measured quality level for key quality characteristics.
