2006:  Groundbreaking ceremonies are held for the Solair Wilshire mixed-use construction project at the Wilshire/Western Metro Rail station.

The 22-story building will include 186 condominium units, 40,000 square feet of commercial and retail space, and public areas.  It is the first mixed-use high-rise development to be built for the Koreatown/Wilshire Center community since Metro Red Line Segment 2A opened in 1996.

The project is expected to generate more than 200 new construction-related jobs as well as $350,000 annually for Metro.  More information can be found in the July 21, 2006 issue of the MyMetro employee news digest.
