March 14: This Date in Los Angeles Transportation History

1995:  Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority partners with McDonald’s to test market the sale of discounted transit tokens at ten corporate-owned restaurants in Los Angeles.

Metro passengers can save 45% by using the 90-cent tokens as the equivalent of the $1.35 base fare on Metro buses and Metro Blue Line trains.

The selected McDonald’s are in downtown, Hollywood, South Los Angeles, and the San Fernando Valley.
