September 20: This Date in Los Angeles Transportation History

2006:  Metro unveils its “12-Minute Map,” a tool that shows riders at a glance which bus lines run every 12 minutes or less throughout the County.

Rick Wood, president and CEO of CHK America, a company that designs passenger information publications for transit agencies, states that:

“We’ve never seen anything like it and we work with about 150 transit agencies all over the world…The reason is probably that there are not a lot of agencies that can do it.  Los Angeles is one of the few that offers service that good.”
